April 28th Quilt Celebrations

On the 21st, Rachelle brought a treasure trove
of finished quilts to share with us.

First was this darling nautical-themed baby quilt.

Then a two-fer....
This cute one and a bonus "little" from the triangle scraps.

Aren't they wonderful?

And then a string quilt with a great pattern created from
the same center strip in each block which matches the sashing.
Great idea!

Beautiful as always, Rachelle!

Happy Quilting!

April 21st Quilt Celebrations!

On the 21st, we got to see Ruth's repair job on a quilt she was given.

So much work, Ruth.  Nice job.

April 14th Quilt Celebrations!

We had a few celebrations on the 14th.....

Diana brought her Leavenworth friendship quilt
made of 12 blocks from quilt group friends
who meet each year in Leavenworth and also near White Pass.

Fun reminders of good times!

March 31st Quilt Celebrations!

Jeannie Austin came to visit
and brought with her a couple of her recent finishes.
What a treat to have her with us and get to see her amazing work!

She brought a couple of smaller projects for youngsters.  They're cute!

She brought her Baltimore, which is her version of a larger one with which she helped a friend awhile back.  I wish I would have recorded what she said about it so we could have it here, but I didn't. There is a lot of history surrounding the origins of the quilt that inspired this one.

As always, her work is impeccable.

This one is called "United We Stand" and is made of blocks that were leftover from both Mary Ann and me and our Civil War Sampler quilts, as well as blocks Jeannie and Mary Ann made together.  Then her signature eagles are scattered throughout the piece, crowned by the one at the top.  There are written pieces, too, which commemorate different wars.

Amazing, Jeannie.
Thanks so much for sharing with us!

Happy Quilting!

March 10th Quilt Celebration!

We had a real treat on the 10th when Jeanine shared her "Happy Quilt".  It's the first time she's delved into wool applique, and what a beautiful result!

These are two of her favorite blocks!

Beautiful, Jeanine!  I agree.  It is a happy quilt!

Happy Quilting!

March 3rd Quilt Celebrations!

Beckie brought a finished quilt to celebrate.  It's been in the works for awhile and she made it for a friend of hers.

Isn't it beautiful?
Lovely work, Beckie!

Theresa brought a raffle quilt-in-process to show and also blocks that Barb made for another raffle quilt.  Both are wonderful!

Isn't it just sweet??

And the blocks are so happy!

Happy Quilting!

February 24th Quilt Celebrations

The 24th was a fun evening.  We had several celebrations and were delighted to have Rick Sundstrom join us.  He had anticipated basting his "Snowball" quilt, but the tables weren't big enough to accommodate his top.  He also brought his finished "Delectable Mountains" quilt, so we were treated to seeing it!  It's done in 30's reproductions and is all hand-pieced and hand-quilted.  It is an amazing piece of work.

Gorgeous, Rick!  Thanks for sharing it with us!

Theresa shared a fun quilt she made for a friend of theirs who really enjoyed using a quilt of theirs in their home. She decided to make one as similar to theirs as possible, and this is the result.  You can see theirs under and to the left of the new one.

Such a great idea, Theresa!

I shared my Mini Easy Peasy Pinwheel quilt.  It's all of 11" x 13"!
I used the mini-charm pack and fat quarter from our quilting retreat gift bundles.  Lots of fun.

Happy Quilting!
