January 27th Quilt Celebrations

We had some fun quilts on the 27th!

Theresa brought a couple of Linus finishes.
She did a simple stripe pattern and embellished it with cool quilting.

Great idea, Theresa!

November 4th Quilt Celebrations!

We had some treats last night.  And I don't mean the cookies and eclairs!

Jessie brought two of the four quilts she is making for Edna Fund's grandchildren.  When Edna was at our quilt show, she asked Jessie if she would be willing to make them for this Christmas, and Jessie has been steadily working on them.

The first is for the youngest, Jaymin.  He has Downs, and this is a letters and numbers quilt to help him is those areas.  The front was a panel that Jessie cut apart and shadow framed each block.  The back is made of blocks from previous ideas for the quilt.  Barb did a wonderful job of quilting it with hand prints, waves and stars.

The second is for the oldest, Amanda.  Her favorite color is teal and her favorite animal an owl.  Jessie used the "Whirl-a-Jig" pattern idea from Connecting Threads.  Barb did the quilting and did a fantastic job of getting the motion Jessie wanted for the pinwheels.  AND the detail she used for the owl is amazing.  Feathers, a branch and leaves!

Both look wonderful, Jessie!

Geralyn brought her basket quilt and, oh my, what a beauty.

She said it is a compilation of 3 patterns and uses some really cool techniques, some challenging and time consuming.  But look at the results!

Absolutely beautiful, Geralyn!

Happy Quilting!

May 6th Quilt Celebrations!

We had a busy night on Tuesday.  Barb, Diana and Theresa all brought quilts to celebrate!

The first of Barb's two is for her grandson.
The owl theme has become popular again.
Cute, cute quilt!

And the back!

Her second is her cow quilt.  Absolutely darling!
The back is a cow print, but the picture didn't come out.

Wonderful, Barb!!

Diana brought one she made for a nurse.
The quotations are so cute!

Very fun, Diana!

Theresa brought her "Pointless Star."  Is that right, Theresa?
She said it pretty much drove her crazy, but she's glad it's finished!

I like it, Theresa!

Happy Quilting!!

November 19th Quilt Celebrations!

Okay, I'm really behind it here.  I just plain forgot to get these pictures up!

First, Susy showed us her Chevron & Owl baby quilt for her next grandbaby.
Isn't the Owl just cute?!

And she also had a Minky Blanket she made,
a tradition for each of her grandchildren.
The fabric is so beautiful.

Such fun, Susy!
Beautiful work, as always.

And then Connie showed us a "Bricks" quilt that she did for Linus.
The color play here is fun.

And here is her "Raspberry Swirl," a project from the
Jo Morton class several of our group took at Momma Made It.

This is also known as "Sammy's Race Track,"
being that her grandson enjoyed running his cars on the sashing!
Beautiful work, Connie!

Happy Quilting!!
